Observer Based Controller for Magnetic Levitation System

Abstract -
This paper explains Magnetic Levitation system of a train which comprises of guidance track made with magnets. The main objective is to design a proper controller that can suspend and propelled the train on a guidance track made with magnets. To perform the desired task state space model of Magnetic Levitation system is derived. The response of the system is simulated in MATLAB. The open loop response showed that the derived model is unstable. Observer Based Controller (OBC) is designed to analyze the system in closed loop. The controller showed improved performance for different tracks. Different types of realization techniques (minimal realization, balanced realization, modal realization, observer canonical realization) are compared for minimum fragility in controller implementation. The difference among the different realization controllers has been analyzed in detail for rounding off error or truncation error and an optimal non fragile controller design has been presented. Different disturbances were imposed upon the simulated model. All the results are analyzed in open and closed loops. The closed loop response showed that the vehicle is suspend and propelled on the track and the desired results were achieved successfully.

Information Retrieval based on Semantic Navigation in Medical Corpus

Abstract -
The semantic representation of resources is a domain of intense research at present. In this domain, several directions can be taken. In the present work we are exactly interested in the conceptual analysis of the textual documents. In our approach, we suggest studying the variation of the concept relevance within a text to identify the major theme and all the minor themes evoked in the text. This allows us at the second level of analysis to create a semantic map of concepts and terms extracted from resources. Through this map, we propose to the users a proximity champ allowing them to find, in the one time, pertinent resources according to their query and in the second time to discover a new knowledge by navigating in semantic proximity relations.

Security Decision Making Framework for SOA

Abstract -
In this paper we show that the security problem in banking environment is a severe one. Security problem becomes even more complicated within SOA projects. Criticality of the banking domain combined with the complexity that commonly exists is such huge working environment push the security problem in SOA projects to the edge. We believe that such kind of problems does not have a silver pullet. Therefore, we recommend a solution for that problem using a proposed security decision making framework. The recommended technique is proved to enhance the overall working environment security by (1) optimizing and standardizing security control selection process, (2) reducing the cost of securing new software projects and (3) speeding up securing new SOA projects. The study has been applied in banking domain but we believe it can be easily used in other domains. The architecture of the framework achieves flexibility and extendibility through using metadata and keeping the framework steps simple. The feasibility and effectiveness of the framework is proven by applying it to create a security decision making tool to automate the process of selecting the security controls needed for each new project. The results of applying the tool is compared to the traditional method and the result show clear superiority of the recommended technique.

Throughput and Control Overhead Analysis using CBAODV Algorithm for Link Breakage in VANET

Abstract -
Vehicular Ad hoc Networking (VANET) is a network that helps a vehicle to send information to neighboring vehicles, and data packets are transmitted from one vehicle to another vehicle. In VANET, Connection Breakage is an important issue in the existing routing protocols like Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV), DSR, DSDV. In this paper, an analysis of Throughput and Control Overhead is done using our proposed CBAODV Algorithm. The CBAODV allows route discovery and route maintenance and it also reduces the connection breakage. The experimental results are very promising as the proposed algorithm exhibits superior performance with respect to traditional AODV routing algorithm in terms of QoS metrics like Throughput and Control Overhead. NS2 and MOVE tools are used as simulator to simulate the network and to prove the effectiveness of the research work.
